The #1 Way To Get More of What You Want

Jan 27, 2026

What is the number one way to get more of what we want? FOCUS -- by placing our attention on what we want versus what we don't want.

. We must choose to change our focus. Brain science is all about refocusing and reframing our negative beliefs and thoughts into positive that better serve us in attaining what we want. We tend to focus on our immediate need and why we can't have more of ... which keeps us where we are instead of where we want to go.

I think we share what most resonates with us, what has worked for us and even what we ourselves most need to know. Coaching, meditation, brain science and the act of refocusing and reframing has seen me through the hardest times in my life. Practices to keep my own head above water. Sometimes I am winning and sometimes I'm not but I keep going.

After a tough week sprinkled with frustration I thought I would share a gold nugget I found for refocusing to what I want inspired my Esther Hicks. I hope that it may help you drown out your own inner critic and act as an example of what refocusing our attention and thoughts might look like.

We often get caught up in:

"I seem to be just spinning my wheels and getting no where fast."

"I am so tired of dealing with ..."

"If I could just ..."

"There seems to be a growing number of bills vs. income."

"I am not qualified to ... or I lack the skills to"

"I'm not ____ enough."

"I'm afraid to ___."

"When ____happens I'll be happy."

Instead of focusing on the tail spin of doubt and negativity, focus on what you want and what you want to create.

"Everything is always working out for me."

"I have the confidence that I am guided with perfect timing riding on a magic carpet ride of momentum towards my goals in business, travel, family and friendships."

"All the forces are working with me to bring about my greatest desires."

"I am working towards gaining the skills I need."

"I would like to live in a constant state of appreciation and gratitude."

"I would like to be an uplifter. Anyone that comes into contact with me to benefit as a result of being together."

"I would like not to feel bad when that doesn't happen."

"I would like to be in a place where I am not at my best and be ok with not being at my best and not beat myself up for not being at my best. Because like the ocean I have ebb and flow too."

"I would like to be accepting of myself and everyone else."

"I want to be all that I was born to be."

"I want to have fun. I want to have clarity, to feel energized and I want to feel good. I want to wake up every morning eager and excited for the day."

"I want to sleep good, eat well and take good care of myself. I want others to have that too."

"I want all kids to eat well and go to sleep with full bellies. I would like them to know how wonderful they are. I would like all children to know their value, to know now."

"I would like them to have the opportunities to know that."

"I want people to feel good. I would like people to know the value of who they are."

"I would like to be at a place in my life where I can help people know the value of who they are, I would really like that. Just one at a time."

"I would like to be the catalyst to helping more people feel good and understand they are capable of great things."

"I would like to control the contrast of life better. I would like to be better at inviting the contrast. I would like the contrast to come in the form of a question to which I am seeking an answer rather than in a form of a problem where I am needing to find a solution."

"I want to be on the peripheral edge of problems where I can observe them yet close enough I can help find the solution. Yet not wrapped up in the problem where I become lost in the problem."

"I like knowing that pure positive energy has its gaze upon me at all times."

"It is my intention to keep my promises to myself more of the time."

"I am going to have way more fun."

"I am going to look for more reasons to laugh and feel good."

"I'm going to serve myself first and foremost so I can better serve others."

"I am going to take good care of me."
